Coordinator of the research projects HYDROLAB (ECRF) and PIRODE (MATTM, Rome) on hydrogen issues. Coordinator or team leader of several national (PRIN, CNR), international (EC RFP-4/5/6/7, INTAS, NATO, COST, CNR/RAS/CONACYT/RFBR), and industrial (BASF, Thermphos, Mossi & Ghisolfi, ENEL) projects. Recipient (PI) of an ERC ADVANCED GRANT for the project "Phosphorene functionalization: a new platform for advanced multifunctional materials" (PHOSFUN) (2015 - 2019) (Horizon-2020). Activation of small inorganic and organic molecules. Activation and functionalization of elemental phosphorus (white, red and black phosphorus) Phosphorene Transition-metal hydrides. Molecular hydrogen complexes. Materials for H-storage. Carbon dioxide capture and valorisation Metal promoted functionalization of terminal alkynes. Selective transformations of vinylidenes and allenylidenes. Water soluble organometallic complexes. C-H bond activation in hydrocarbons and oxoderivatives. Homogeneous catalysis. Hydrodesulfurisation reaction of thiophenic molecules. Characterization of organometallic compounds through multinuclear 1D- and 2D-NMR spectroscopy.
