Plasma medicine is an emerging field among the broad spectrum of the plasma science and technologies. In this contribution, we focus on the application of Cold Atmospheric Plasmas (CAPs) for accelerating blood coagulation. A review of the state of art on the topic is discussed in the first part. In the second part, the main features of the Plasma Coagulation Controller, a plasma source recently developed at Consorzio RFX, are presented together with the in vitro tests on blood samples withdrawn from patients following anti-coagulant therapy. Blood clots are clearly visible after treatments even shorter than 1 minute.
